Halloween Wedding Ideas

Halloween is fast approaching and it can be a very popular theme for a wedding, so I have put together this blog to give a few Halloween wedding ideas that are easy to do but very effective. I’m going to stay away from things like witches and ghosts and look at more traditional ways to help with a Halloween wedding theme that will give your wedding a more natural feel.

In this blog I’m going to concentrate on all things pumpkin. But first I’ll talk about colours.

There is one colour that is synonymous with Halloween but you don’t have to use orange, especially not bright orange you can have pastels or even sticking to an autumn colour theme will work and maybe adding some gold touches.
But if you are looking for BRIGHT colours then definitely purple and orange work well together or black and orange or one of those colours alone.

Pumpkins are very versatile both for decorations and food.
There are several things you can do with them:
-Using pumpkins as vases painting them white or making glitter pumpkins.
-Carving Mr and Mrs or drawing on them.
-Having mini pumpkins which you can use as table name and place name holders.

It doesn’t even have to be real pumpkins – you can use ornaments or candles shaped as pumpkins. You can even make your own pumpkins using things like paper and yarn.

Pumpkin seeds
If you are looking for a unique and creative way to decorate your venue then using the pumpkin seeds themselves is a great way to do this. You can save seeds from previous Halloweens as, when stored correctly, they will last a long time. Just wash them after you have taken them from the pumpkin and let them dry. The you can use them in different ways. They can be painted or glittered and used in the place of scatter crystals or in the table center pieces as shown in the photo below.

As I said earlier, pumpkins are very versatile, especially food wise. If you want to incorporate this well know Halloween staple into your menu here are a few ideas:
-Pumpkin soup – would make a great starter.
-Pumpkin Pie – for dessert.
-Pumpkin Bread.
-Pumpkin quiches – maybe for a buffet.
-Pumpkin Ravioli.
-Pumpkin mash.
-Pumpkin seeds – as a treat.
You can even have a pumpkin flavoured wedding cake. But if that isn’t to your taste, the cake could always be shaped as a pumpkin – or several stacked on top of each other.
