Naomi & Luke
Well this was a nice wedding.
We were referred to this couple by Claudette and Chris, one of our very first weddings so we were very happy to oblige.
Now we like these weddings where both the ceremony and reception are on the same site as this allows us to film some of the bridal prep which makes for a much better into to the wedding film.
So we are at Dunchurch Park Hotel and this place looks a bit boring from the entrance side but I was stunned when I went out the other side to see where the reception would be held. The stately house reveals itself in such a majestic way. The only thing I wish I had was a drone to capture the venue.
After capturing the bridal party getting ready and a few other shots of the venue, I set up for the ceremony. This was the shortest ceremony I have ever been to ~12 mins, WOW normally these are about 20-ish mins, but anyway it doesn’t need to be lengthy as long as the correct bits are done and everything is legit.
So after the ceremony everyone lined up for a pretty awesome confetti run (everyone loves a bit of confetti) from one of the main doors into quite a big-ish area. From there all the guests and couple are funnelled round to the front of the house for some photos with the photographer. I was eagerly awaiting to take the couple down to the lake at the very bottom of the massive garden which has a little pagoda. These turned out very well indeed, as the couple was walking back there were some dark clouds coming over the top of the house which made for a very moody contrasting shot.
Now I was a little disappointed by the marquee off to the side where the main reception would be held. While it was very well laid out and setup including a decent bar, ablutions and kiddie play area the room felt dark, while to the naked eye this is fine to my camera is it not so great. The dance floor was very very dark and required some interesting camera work, which we pulled off well I believe.
At the end of the day the couple were happy and off on their honeymoon pretty quickly as the kids need to be back for school.
Wishing them a very happy life together and many happy years.
