ITS CHRISTMAS time
Well this is a treat, not too often do you get to film a wedding in December, mainly down to the fact it is so cold. Well this time it was cold, not enough for snow but cold enough to keep everyone inside. The venue itself is still working farm in some ways but has been converted into a luxury wedding venue.
So Crockwell Farm is such a lovely venue, we have been here before but for a family wedding and it was really nice. When we found out we would be filming here, we got a little excited as there are many opportunities for filming depending on the couple and the weather.
The bride was getting ready at the venue in a room just off of the main ceremony area which is great for us as we can just nip in and out when we need to get some shots. The ceremony room itself is not massively roomy but I have a wide lens which makes these types of rooms easier to film in.
The bride looked lovely in her dress and the grooms party was all kilted up which also made for a change as we don’t get to film many gents in kilts in Northampton. After the ceremony drinks are served outside as the weather was bright and sunny so everyone wanted to go warm up in the winter sun and enjoy it before it got all dark. I was allowed into the reception room beforehand to do some filming before it got all trashed by the guests. I was WOWed…. The bride had arranged some roses frozen in a block of ice and once these started to melt they looked amazing, she had also got in some Christmas trees for the wedding favours which set the scene quite nicely.
After the wedding breakfast and all the speeches we took the couple for some photos and video out in the courtyard as it had gotten a bit dark now and made for some nice sparkler shots. We all made our way back into the warmth and the couple spilt up for a few mins, to find the bride had gone and changed into an amazing red wedding dress for the first dance. I never found out why though.
Overall Crockwell Farm didn’t let down and was just as good as I remember. I would highly recommend the venue to anyone who is looking at it.
Wishing the couple a happy life together.
